The National Workers Memorial, located in Canberra, honours and pays tribute to working Australians who have lost their lives as a result of work-related accidents, incidents and diseases.

Officially opened on 28 April 2013, the memorial provides an important focal point to commemorate Workers' Memorial Day, recognised internationally on 28 April each year.

Visitors to the memorial can lay a tribute for a loved one and take a moment to pause and reflect within earshot of the National Carillon's bells.

The memorial also serves as a poignant reminder of the need for sustained and concerted effort to prevent work-related accidents, incidents and disease. It is a place to reflect on the evolving values, ideas and aspirations of the Australian community around work health and safety.

Consistent with the commemorative intent of the memorial, the names of those who have lost their lives due to work-related accidents, incidents or disease are published on the National Workers Memorial Voluntary Honour Roll.
